PIXELATE!

pixelplug.jpg

In the world of graphic design a pixel is a small square that makes up one tiny almost overlooked piece of the “Big Picture”…yet take it out, remove it from the palate and you can detect that it is missing. The fact is that everywhere we look Big things are made of and held together…made beautiful by the little squares in life! Without these almost obscure blocks the whole picture would be blurry and out of focus. We will be looking deep to discover how the small things in our life can bring about huge change! Small is really where it all begins, it’s the new BIG thing!

An Awesome Day!

(As I watch the LA Lakers cream Cleveland)…Just want to share my monday evening recap and thoughts about this Sundays Pastor’s Brunch…Awesome! This is a meeting to build our core team and share our core vision as we gather momentum for our grand kick-off! The location for our time together on Sundays is really cool. We are meeting at Edwards fitness center seven bridges…its really a great feeling to be around so many people and be able to make some connections. The CP group is growing and there is such a fantastic anticipation “buzz” growing among us! People are excited and full of faith for all that we know are coming! We are continuing in our series of messages centered around these core values, “In/Vision.” You may ask what these are…I’m very glad you did. We have them arranged in 3 simple categories or statements: Experience God, Discover His Word, and Share His Love! We believe we are here to plant a church that will continually reach those far from God that they will come to a life of healing and wholeness in Jesus Christ! Everyone was so into the word and we really heard from God this week! I love the energy and the Spirit of God that is present when we come together! We hung around for quiet a while after too (Just talking)…Great day for everyone! If you are reading this and thinking of checking us out..do it! You will not regret it, I promise! Its your chance to be a part of an amazing movement of great people that God is using to perform his will…He “en-visions” greater things for us than we can even imagine and we “In-Vision” (we are diving in!) doing all he is calling us to! What a fantastic journey…I LOVE IT!

become a kingdom builder!

kbplug.jpg

We have this passionate mission burning in our hearts to “reach those far from God that they may experience a life of healing and wholeness through Jesus Christ!” We are currently meeting in the Independence School on 230 Orchard Ave in Bolingbrook, Il just off Lily Cache. Our vision is to fill this up twice and go to two weekend worship experiences at this site, which will pretty much be the cap! We then plan to move into a 13,000 sq ft warehouse which will house a worship area, student center, prayer site, food kitchen, ministry offices, childrens day care, and conference center. This was an incredible day. I can’t tell you how much joy it gives me to be in the water baptizing someone into God’s family! I wanted to just stay right here in this moment. This is Kenny and he will be headed to serve our country in the army. We are praying a special angelic covering over this man and believe that Gods protection will be with him. Thank you Mick (hpc community care pastor) for your love for those far from God! You are the real deal! Awesome Day!

our Vision, 10 unique values

Recently I sat in a overstuffed chair in the middle of a really nice Barnes and Nobles, enjoying one of my favorite past times reading…no I really do love it. If you want to buy me something for my birthday (April 13) or just because you love me…buy me a book or a mini cooper. I wont hold my breathe on the second one. Anyway, I was reading through a book on Vision. It got me to thinking about mission and vision and goals. The thing is mission is what God has designed his church for. Its already set. I believe our mission is outlined in Isaiah 61:1-3. However vision is the very tangible, very specific ways that we will achieve this mission. Our vision for HPC is clearly described in these ten uique values: (These are ten things we are striving to become and achieve!)

1. Deeper seeking of God
• through worship and the word, (downpour)
• encouragement of personal daily prayer

2. Deeper commitment in our prayer,
• 24/7 prayer room
• Personal and corporate

3. Our commitment to New Birth message;
• Baptism in Christ name, Matt 28:19, Acts 10:48, Acts 2:38, Acts 8:16
• Baptism in the Spirit, John 3:5, Acts 11:16,

4. Our compassionate heart…Ministering to needs in the community
• “Servolution”
• Food distribution
• Community Reach

5. Relevant venues, to age, and to spiritual depth…all are welcomed!
• Sunday Service; unbelievers, young believers in mind, multi service with different styles.
• Downpour; more mature believers, deeper dimension of worship and word

6. Our trait of growing closer through Fellowship
• Connect Groups

7. Our trait of “open” involvement in ministry
• Opportunities for immediate involvement (open to all)
• Ministry training and development

8. Deeper in Biblical study
• Life Institute, (Wed evening) “The deeper the roots…the higher the reach!”
• Encouragement of personal daily devotion
• Leadership and Pastoral Development

9. Our heart for Missions and Evangelism
• Multi Campus sites
• Overseas and Home mission projects
• Television and Media

10. HPC Life Center
Worship, Ministry, Family Life Center, (“Building for Life”)
• Warehouse, Lease
• Construction of a Campus
• Addition of College and School

Servolution Baby!

A revolution of radical serving! I believe that as we reach out aand truly minister to those around us we will see them drawn by God to come to know him! This coming Saturday, June 14 HPC will be handing out 1000’s of water bottle to people in our city. It is going to be awesome! Plus we get to wear some really cool looking T-Shirts…thanks Austin! I just have a two words Servolution Baby! Servolution!

Connect Group, Servanthood

What a great time we had at connect group this past thursday evening. It seemed that everyone was very eager to talk and share. The presence of God was so powerful among us. Thanks to Cindy for a great spread of food. Tacos, yummy! We continued in our discussion on what it means to be a servant of God. Since We have begun our `08 summer of Servolution its a great time to discuss this thought. We are not called to serve, but rather to be servants. sounds the same…but its not. To be a servant means that we are completely at the disposal and use of our master. It means that we belong to Him. This digs in a little deep, but when we commit our live to Jesus Christ we are saying, “Jesus be Lord of my life.” You take control. Mark 10:43 says, “Whosoever wants to be great must become a servant.” Jesus measures greatness interms of of service, not status. God determines greatness by how we serve him in worship, and how we serve others in ministry. I was very moved by the discussion from the great people in this group. At the very center of this discussion is the true desire to have a servants heart. This is produced and formed in us as we become more like our lord Jesus Christ. If you want to talk about a “servant” that is a real servant! Real servants are not self-serving. They pay attention to the needs of their families, their church family, and their neighbors around them. In that order…What an awesome and amazing responsibility!
