Big Burdens…Small Areas, “Graffiti”
Pastor Dan Myer

• I love to read…A recent book I have been rereading is called The Tipping point…
It researches Social epidemics…in fashion, cultural, criminal…
And one amazing account is an incredible epidemic that took place in NYC…

• The overwhelming “decline of crime” in NYC in the early 90’s
They traced the turn around to a few small key areas…

• 1) Caught, the guys who jumped turn-styles… 2) Fixed, all the broken windows…
3) Cleaned the graffiti off the walls…Spent tax dollars cleaning the subway cars

• Over a period of several yrs in NYC the graffiti was everywhere…so they began by cleaning it off the walls…

• And a wonderful epidemic ensued…things began to turn around in a major decline of crime! It is really quite an amazing thing…Crime is rampant and they attacked the burden by cleaning graffiti and repairing windows!

• But this principle is actually from the bible… Continue Reading »

a god hearted giver!

IN / VISION
“God Hearted Giver!”
Pastor Dan Myer

Proverbs 3:5-10
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn away from evil (natural thinking). Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones.

Honor (Lavishly pour on) the LORD with your wealth and with the best part (first part) of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.”

“Squiggling” and “Squirming”, people often say to churches, please…d-d-d-Don’t talk about the monstrous matter of money! Yikes!!

I would like to suggest to you that the church doesn’t talk enough about money! The church dives into a wide array of deep subjects in people’s lives…but when it comes to money we steer away from declaring what Jesus has to say about this important subject!

The media and networks are feverously talking about money from many different avenues and angles…ever political “pundent” and would be economist has a million thoughts, opinions, and reports. And all too often the voice that has the real answers for the subject is silenced. “Lending tree and AIG can not be the only ones to speak to me about money!” The God who knows it all is the one I want speaking to me about this important matter!

When the church does talk about it we jump and dance around it because of many who have used it wrongly to want and to waste…however, the reasons we should talk about money more…

Preach for the reasons Jesus preached, Luke 4:18-19, “open blinded eyes and bring freedom to those who are bound”

Preach about what Jesus preached about, there are more verses in the bible about money than any other subject…There are 500 verses about prayer, and less than 500 about faith

- There are 2000+ verses talking about possessions and money
- 16 of Jesus 38 parables addressed money, 1 out of every ten verses in the NT is about money, 1 out of every 6 in the OT Continue Reading »

moplug.jpg

I know that there are times when we wish we could just scrap everything and be made a new… the prayer of the heart that I have heard many times over from people is for God to come and make over my life. We are digging in to the word of God in this new series called “Made Over” and we will discover 5 principles to achieving Gods best for our lives. When I think about this awesome work of Gods grace in our lives, that he will come as a healer, a deliverer, a restorer into our lives and make us over it is so powerful! We launched into it this past week with our first installment called “Dig it Up!” Continue Reading »

Power in The Clay

morepowerplug.jpg

We all need it…Power. Whether its power to achieve a dream or overcome an obstacle. Whatever its application…we need it. Its source can be sometimes overlooked, but the effects are always recognized, defined and impactful. I am doing a study on “Power” right now. The creative source and title of my current series is from one of my incredible elders in the faith, Bishop TF Tenney (I am proud of the fact that I can say, “I was ordained by Him”). I believe we are created to become great, not merely average or good! A people Continue Reading »
